Wellington IV Z1461 took off at 22:57 and failed to return. The aircraft was brought down at Waddewarden, 6 kilometres northeast of Jever at 02:17 hours on 27th July 1942. The crew were buried by the Germans in Wilhelmshaven. In 1949 the crew was moved to Oldenburg Sage British Military Cemetery.
